Miles Beyond was in charge of the transportation, assembly and set up of this amazing photoshoot that took place in Fresnaye, Cape Town which featured on the cover of the Habitat magazine. It was a house which had just been designed by well-known architect Jenny Mills whom we got to work with on the day. We were fortunate enough to work with some other top names and brands such as one of our clients Roche Bobois. You can find the magazine read on- https://jma.za.net/project/inprint/habitat-novdec-2016
This project was a perfect example of the type of work Miles Beyond specialize in. It requires attention to detail and much experience in the designer industry.
Every centimeter and angle matter hugely with a photoshoot. You need to capture the right lighting, while still pulling the setting together perfectly.
Being such a large house, it required a large amount of furniture to be brought in. We had allocated teams to stay at each destination to manage their sections and to ensure everything was in order.
We strive for our clients to trust Miles Beyond fully in the logistics of these operations. To do so, we ensure we have team managers on each end to keep track of time and know exactly what is happening
Due to the products being so incredibly expensive and delicate, wrapping and packaging correctly are essential.
We spent the day before carefully planning the wrapping of all the products that were used throughout the photoshoot.
These products have such detail to them, that even the slightest scratch would completely ruin the piece.
Miles Beyond inspires to work and partner with all high end and well-known Architects, Interior Designers, furniture companies and photographers in and around Cape Town such as these shown in this project.
We have been able to familiarize ourselves with these industries which has proven to make things far more efficient on the day. As well as far less stressful for our clients, as things can be on such eventful days.
During photoshoots you need everyone to be on the same page. There are all sorts going on and the last thing one needs to be stressing about is the handling of products and chasing people around that don’t know what they are doing.
The bed shown in the next image came in about 30 pieces. Lots of small parts, screws, bolts and delicate lamp shades.
Our team has previously worked with similar products, so assembling this was a quick and easy task.
Majority of products we deal with are quite complex, especially due to most of it being imported. Meaning things need to be packed in flat packed boxes.
It is so essential to know the product as a lost screw or damaged piece would mean waiting weeks or even months to get a replacement.
